在巴黎住所附近的 Rue Montorgueil 買菜，經過一家餅店，糕點精美得連不好甜食的老公也垂涎三尺。
走進店子，我只顧欣賞美食，挑通眼尾的老公則注意到很多我沒注意的東西，說：「這不是一間普通的餅店！」

How is it like staying in an apartment instead of a hotel in your vacation? We tried recently – It's GREAT!
We found 96 Rue Saint-Denis at Homelidays.com. It's a finely decorated roof-top apartment at a very convenient location (1st arrondissement).
Our apartment is on the roof-top (with the tree) of the yellow-brownish building.
Accommodation in Paris is incredibly expensive. For €100 per night you normally get a 2 star hotel room only, but for the same price, we got a 5 star "home"!

Eating out in Paris is also amazingly expensive! Staying in an apartment, we had a kitchen for making our own meals so we didn't have to eat out everyday. For someone who enjoys cooking like me, it also brought more fun as we did our shopping at food markets. This made us feel less touristy.

We mainly bought ready-made meals from the supermarket, as they were quick to make. It was very convenient since the supermarket was right opposite to where we stayed! Though just packed meals, they tasted fresh and delicious – unlike the ones in Hong Kong which could often taste awful.
The supermarket is just downstairs - opens till 12:00 midnight.
We also went to the fresh food market on Sunday. It was only 10 minutes' walk from our apartment.

The apartment stay not only helped us save money. Most of all, it marked a very different experience from other trips - gave us a little taste of Parisian life!

四呎乘六呎的面積， 二人三貓合睡， 迫嗎？
有點迫，但很窩心。
有些人無論多愛貓，也絕對不讓愛貓上床，或甚進入睡房。我們不但不介意，還非常歡迎。
未有阿拔和妹頭時，細貓愛在冬天跳上床和我們睡，但到了夏天，就是如何誘她、哄她，她都不肯，教我們失落得很。她上床主要是為了取暖，夏天哪用我們來當暖水袋？
打從家裏多了阿拔和妹頭，情況可不同了。阿拔和妹頭愛模仿細貓，都一窩風依她的做法跑上床睡！漸漸，細貓有點醋意，開始一年四季，不分冷暖，都跑來和我們一起睡，不讓弟妹專美！
既然上床是為了親近我們，貓們的睡姿當然以「貼身」為前題，當中更以細貓「攝腳罅」之舉最妙，擠在我們兩腿之間，絕不放過任何一吋肌膚之親（見圖）！此時若其他兩隻貓出現，細貓更會使盡全身之力墜在床上，以示堅決留下之心，像在說「你咪同我爭呀！打死我都唔走！」
我和老公，自然樂得享受這漁人之利！
朋友看罷《老爸日記》後問：「到底是你老爸真的那麼有趣，還是在你的筆觸下把他寫得那麼有趣？」
有意思的問題！
我想了半，答道：「應該說，在我眼中他是個十分有趣的人。」
就像他孤寒成性這一環，我覺得很有趣，但肯定有人不欣賞──如我老媽。
記得老媽生前常常抱怨，和老爸去購物，他總是推三推四，見到店舖掉頭便走，教老媽感到十分沒趣。要知道，老媽本身雖亦節儉（經歷過戰爭的一代大多如此），但因為愛美，少不免也喜歡買些靚衫，扮靚用品等，偏偏老爸不但欠缺耐性，更不愛花錢，動輒嚷著要走，難怪老媽怪他不解溫柔。
曉是遺傳了老爸的基因，我的購物慾不大，故對老爸的孤寒性格不但沒有反感，反而覺得挺可愛。早幾天和他到荃灣複診；由於荃灣的物價比老爸住的將軍澳為低，故他常趁複診時順道買些東西。到達醫院，他喜孜孜地向我展示戰利品：新買的襯衣，價值廿元；兩排消炎藥，比將軍澳便宜五元；還有腳上的皮鞋，弟弟不穿了，他拿了來穿。
若有環保長者選舉，我必定提名老爸參選！
家裏上一任傭人懂得剪髮，老爸樂不可支，因可省掉不少理髮費用。最近家裏換了傭人，我懷疑老爸會否覺得可惜？
未必！
某天他向我投訴，新的印傭煮太孤寒（！）「買菜只買那一少束，炒出來只那麼一小碟！」
哈！一山還有一山高！
難得老爸尚有點幽默感，笑道：「我已經夠慳了，她卻比我更慳！」
看來他理髮所花的錢，很快便會在菜上省回來！
老爸行年八十，生性節儉無比、極度性急，耐性指數是零。
